John Matthew Muñiz was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, and is a product of the public school system there. Across his career, he has shown dedication to strengthening public education for all.
John advises school boards and district administrators on strategies for responding to requests for special education due process hearings and provides analysis of potential liability. He also offers legal guidance in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Prior to attending law school, John gained perspective on the challenges faced by public schools while serving as a math teacher in the Austin Independent School District.
