Kristyl M. M. Smith comes from a family of educators. Kristyl’s great-grandmother was the first female principal of three schools on the island of Kauai, her grandfather taught high school math and science and coached the swim teams. Kristyl has a range of teaching experience from ESL at a refugee center to volunteering as a substitute at a local middle and high school.
Kristyl earned her law degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, School of Law. There, she represented indigent clients in the Legal Aid and Defender Program. Prior to joining Walsh Gallegos, Kristyl honed her knowledge of real estate law and the myriad regulations that impact governmental construction as the Manager of San Antonio’s Edward’s Aquifer Protection Program operating under the CIMS umbrella, and subsequently as Outside Counsel for the same program. In addition, her private practice focused on residential construction.
