Linda Trujillo has a long history of supporting and advocating for public education. Her practice focuses on a range of legal matters including employment and student law, board governance, open meetings and public records issues, and election law. Before attending law school, she gained first-hand experience in the classroom as a Head Start teacher and then as a volunteer coordinator for a school district in Washington State.
Linda has more than 25 years of experience in education and public administration. Before joining Walsh Gallegos in 2018, Linda worked for the State of New Mexico as the State Records Administrator. Linda rejoins Walsh Gallegos after serving as Superintendent of the Regulation and Licensing Department.
In 2011, Linda was elected to the Santa Fe Public Schools Board of Education and served two terms. The New Mexico School Boards Association (NMSBA) awarded her School Board Member of the Year in 2014. In 2017, Linda served as President of the NMSBA.
In November 2016, Linda was elected to the New Mexico State House of Representatives and served two terms. On January 21, 2025, Linda was sworn in as State Senator for District 24 and looks forward to advocating for public education and families.
