Michael has been surrounded by a family of educators his entire life which was the kindling that lit the fire in him to see public education thrive. Before attending law school, Michael spent time in the classroom as a fourth-grade teacher in Mesquite and Abilene ISD. It is in the classroom that he learned the role advocacy plays in bolstering education.

Michael earned his law degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law where he graduated with highest honors, served as Editor-In-Chief of the Energy Law Journal, and was Vice President of the Public Interest Board, an organization that provides students with experiential learning opportunities that stress the value of service in the legal community.

Outside of the practice of law, Michael enjoys a good cup of coffee, soccer, and spending quality time with his wife and two children.
